Joseph Campbell teaches us about the various figures in the Hero’s Journey. He lists some of the characters:
All of them perform dramatic functions in a story. One that I would like to do more with is the Shapeshifter. You know, how men think women are shapeshifters, one moment this, the next that; and women think that MEN are shapeshifters.
These fickle people add a lot of tension to a story. What will they do on the next page?
